Nasal polyps are growths that form in your nasal passages or sinuses.
Nasal polyps are growths that form in your nasal passages or sinuses. Your doctor may refer to your condition as nasal polyps or as chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). Nasal polyp symptoms can include nasal congestion, nasal discharge, mucus in the throat, loss of smell, and facial pressure
When you have nasal polyps (CRSwNP), there is typically inflammation in your nasal passages. Eosinophils [ee-uh-sin-uh-fils], a type of white blood cell, play an important role in this inflammatory process. Despite surgical procedures, nasal polyps can come back
Tell your doctor if you've had surgery but your nasal polyp symptoms have come back. Tell your doctor everything you're doing to manage your nasal polyps, and if your symptoms are continuing or getting worse. Talk to your doctor if your nasal polyp symptoms interfere with your daily life - like disrupting your sleep, causing fatigue, or impacting how you feel emotionally.

NUCALA reduced the need for steroids
NUCALA is a biologic; it's not a steroid. It's an injection you get every 4 weeks. When NUCALA is added to your current treatment plan, it can help reduce your symptoms of CRSwNP (like nasal congestion, nasal discharge, mucus in the throat, and loss of smell) and helps prevent the need for surgery. NUCALA helps reduce the size of your nasal polyps and the use of steroids*.
Eosinophils are a normal part of your immune system, but in higher numbers, they can cause inflammation6. NUCALA helps reduce eosinophils in the blood, so it treats a source of inflammation3. Inflammation can play a role in CRSwNP.
Your current treatment may not be controlling your symptoms and not addressing an underlying cause of your nasal polyps: eosinophils.
Nasal polyps affect people differently, so it's important to talk to your doctor about all of your symptoms.
NUCALA targets eosinophils, but what exactly does that mean?
Eosinophils [ee-uh-sin-uh-fils] are white blood cells that are a normal part of the body's immune system
When you have CRSwNP there is inflammation in your nasal passages. Eosinophils, a type of white blood cell, generally play an important role in this inflammation. Despite surgical procedures, nasal polyps can come back.
By reducing the number of eosinophils in your blood, Nucala may reduce the size of your nasal polyps and their associated symptoms. Nucala may also be an alternative to surgery. If you are taking oral or injectable steroids, Nucala may also help reduce the need for steroids to control your CRSwNP
NUCALA Mechanism of action in CRSwNP
At the medical centre: If you want to receive your NUCALA injections from your doctor, you can have NUCALA administered at the medical centre.
At home on your time: NUCALA can also be taken at home with the prefilled pen. Your doctor will provide information on how to properly inject at home.
NUCALA pre-filled pen is a 4 weekly injection as an add-on treatment in adult patients (18 years and above) with severe chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) with an inadequate response to intranasal corticosteroids1.
Don't like needles? With the NUCALA pre-filled pen, you don't have to see the needle.
After you learn how to properly self-inject from your doctor, you can do it on your own in the comfort of your own home with the NUCALA pre-filled pen.
Once you and your specialist decide that the NUCALA Pre-filled pen is right for you, you will be given information on how to properly inject and how to monitor for allergic reactions. Sometimes, serious allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, can occur hours or days later.
